From the stars back to our cities, where we've never felt so small

Cape/Scarf: AA Circle Scarf; Shirt/Dress: Free People, Necklace: Thrifted Belt, Hat: UO, Tights: Rite Aid, Shoes: Ninewest, Bag: Chanel

I love microfiber tights. They make passing off shirts as dresses slightly less unacceptable.

I bought this AA circle scarf from a friend who was frustrated that she had spent $30 on what is essentially a large piece of jersey sewn together at the ends. After purchasing it from her, I too became frustrated, thinking I had completely wasted 30 bucks. However, after an afternoon of tinkering around with it, I found that it was pretty versatile.

By the way, I'm contemplating buying this leather jacket by muu:baa. I'm just a little bit leery about the quality and fit. Has anybody bought apparel from them before? Enlighten me pleasseee. :)

to every man his little cross

tshirt: amazon.com, necklace: mother's from back in the day, sunglasses: rayban

part sci-fi enthusiast, part fairy princess, part hipster.

This rhinestone relic is, unfortunately, the closest thing I'll get to Tom Binns for the time being.

I have a huge sty in my right eye. Shit hurts.

madness

Jeans: Diesel, Flannel Shirt: Thrifted, Shoes: Nine west, Scarf: AA, Sunglasses: raybans, Purse: Chanel

Sorry for the dearth of posts this week (I feel like I say this in all my posts) but I had spent the long weekend in New York City. One of the advantages of having relatives live in manhattan is that you get to spend ridiculous amounts of time cavorting around the island. Speaking of which, NYC is absolutely swarming with type A fashion forward glamazons at the moment, thanks to fashion week. Intimidating, but inspirational. I was too scared to take pictures, but maybe I'll muster enough courage and play street style photographer next time. Maybe.

BY THE WAY, if any of you are going to be in new york within the next week or so, make sure to hit up the barneys warehouse sale. I went the second day of the sale, and it was SHEER MADNESS. Picture this: racks and racks of shoes spanning from the lust-worthy sculptural stella mary janes, to last seasons robo-chic balenciaga stilettos (a la Carine), to the insane three layer frindged louboutins, all haphazardly thrown onto shelves in a way that would make TJ maxx look like Harrods, naked women EVERYWHERE trying to cram themselves into alaia and valentino, proenza and alexander wang all over the floor. My friend tried on a goddess-like versace gown that she had salvaged from the wreck, only to find that the shoulder straps and been ripped off the neckline, and that there was a huge two foot gash. What a waste.

I didn't end up with anything. Though it is a sale, the prices were usually still too $$$$ for my pre-collegiate bank account to handle. But if you have money to spend and are in the NY area, good God what are you still reading this post?

PS. I'm thinking of doing a possible video blog in the near future. Any topic suggestions? :]

modern classic

Coat: Theory, Tights: Walmart, Shoes: Bongo, Fur: H&M

My mother had bought me this amazing Theory trench on super sale for Christmas. It's fitted, and has an A-line shape to it, which makes it perfect for when I feel like pulling off the coat-as-dress look. I rejoiced, as previous trench experiences usually yielded bad results on my vertically challenged frame.

inspire me

Just because the outfit posts were getting a bit too monotonous for my taste, here are some choice collections that inspire (with adoring, almost sycophantic quips by yours truly).

Wasn't a fan of the entire collection, but some choice pieces just screamed "fresh", "chic" and "spring" all at once.

Though some of the pieces this season were questionable (multi-colored heart printed onesie anyone?), there were disgustingly gorgeous gems to be found (ie. I need those shoes and mini dresses ASAP).

Proenza fucking Schouler, need I say more?

default

Boots: Frye, Jeans: superfine (yes, I live in these) , Jacket: Topshop, Sweater: TJ Maxx, Beanie: Urban Outfitters, Bag: Hong Kong, Scarf: Vintage YSL

Behold, my default outfit. Flat boots + leather jacket + beanie + scarf. For those days when I don't feel like dressing up.

I found this under my windshield after I got home. Midway from coming back from work I saw something flopping around and freaked out, thinking it was a ticket. Guess I must have REALLY pissed someone off to have compelled them to pull out a napkin to write me a note. Whoops.

What can I say, god has endowed me with some less-than-mediocre parking skills. In my defense, I was late to work. Not that it really matters.
